A mother sat sewing a small purple and green doll for her son. She wanted to give each stitch had meaning as she put as much love into the design as was possible. She knew she would not be long on this earth so she wanted her boy to have something that reminded him of her and held all the love she had for him inside. As she sewed she hummed a small tune and with it the doll absorbed the love of the mother. When she finished sewing the last button eye on, she wrapped it up by tying a bow around its waist and placed it in her son’s bed as he slept. The boy clung to the doll that night and when he awoke he gasped and rushed to his mother who just smiled softly and told him that the doll was for him and if he showed the doll love and affection then she would always know of his love herself. He decided to name the Doll Kitoru but would call it Kit sometimes. The boy ran around with the doll always with him. He never spent a moment without the doll with him.
